Pioneer Legal, DSK Legal act on Electro Pneumatics and Hydraulics - John Cockerill Defense JV

The Joint Venture will manufacture turrets for Indian Army’s Light Tank Programme.

Pioneer Legal and DSK Legal advised on the Joint Venture between Electro Pneumatics and Hydraulics (India) Pvt Ltd and John Cockerill Defense France SAS for the manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning of the Indian Army’s High Altitude Light Tank (H.A.L.T.) project in accordance with the "Make in India" requirements.

Pioneer Legal advised Electro Pneumatics and Hydraulics on this JV.

The transaction team consisted of Narendra Dingankar (Partner), Dhruval Sheth (Senior Associate), Shreya Gokhale (Associate) and Dhruv Jain (Associate).

DSK Legal advised John Cockerill Defense on this JV.

John Cockerill Defense holds a 60% stake in the JV while Electro Pneumatics and Hydraulics hold the rest of the 40%.

The JV combines John Cockerill's global expertise in advanced weapon systems with Electro Pneumatics & Hydraulics' local industrial knowledge to deliver tailored defense solutions for the Indian armed forces. The turrets will be manufactured at Electro Pneumatics' facility in Chakan, Pune, Maharashtra

This strategic partnership focuses on the production of turrets for the Indian Army's Indian Light Tank (ILT) program, enhancing India's defense readiness in challenging terrains.
