DMD Advocates advises IMFA on Strategic Partnership with JSW Green Energy

IMFA has committed to invest ₹83.26 crore in one or more tranches in JSW Green Energy power project entities.

DMD Advocates advised Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA), India’s leading fully integrated producer of value-added ferro chrome, on its joint venture with JSW Green Energy Limited.

DMD Advocates was involved in legal due diligence, as well as drafting and negotiating the transaction documents.

The transaction was led by Rashi Dhir (Senior Partner & Head of Corporate) along with Tarinee Sudan (Partner), Priyanka Hazarika (Senior Associate), Aditi Kumari (Associate), Jasmine Brar (Associate), and Kashish Ali (Associate).

IMFA

Under this partnership, IMFA is investing in JSW Green Energy One Limited and JSW Green Energy Seven Limited for the supply of hybrid renewable power of 70 MW Contracted Demand  (solar capacity of 50 MW AC & wind capacity of 100 MW), under ‘captive generating plant’ model. In this regard, IMFA has committed to invest ₹83.26 crore in one or more tranches in the power project entities.

The energy generated will be supplied to IMFA under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) as a captive consumer, aligning with the company's commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint
