AQUILAW advises Advocate Sanjay Basu on his acquisition of Nepali daily 'Himalaya Darpan',

Advocate Sanjay Basu, managing partner of AQUILAW, acquired the Nepali daily newspaper Himalaya Darpan through Tidings Media & Communications Private Limited. The acquisition was made from M/s Darpan Times Private Limited.

AQUILAW advised Tidings Media & Communications in this acquisition which was done by way of slump sale of business. The Firm advised in drafting, reviewing, negotiation and finalisation of all deal related documents which included the term sheet, business transfer agreement, deed of assignment etc., and provided assistance in post-closing actions.

The transaction team advising on the matter was led by Suhana Islam Murshedd (Partner), along with Kanchan Modak (Principal Associate) and Milind Anand (Associate).

In July, AQUILAW has advised Advocate Sanjay Basu on the acquisition of Bengali daily 'Ei Samay' from the Times Group.
