University of Colombo to host International Convergence Conference 2025 in September

The conference will be a platform for regional legal dialogue, capacity building, and scholarly exchange.

An international conference on 'Global Convergence: Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Law and Contemporary Challenges' is being hosted by the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, from September 13 to September 14, 2025.

The collaborative effort is organized by the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka; the Kerala Law Academy (KLA), India; the Centre for Advanced Legal Studies and Research (CALSAR), India; and the Global Research Conference Forum (GRCF), India.

The event will be held in a hybrid mode, while the physical venue for the Conference is at the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The Conference will be a platform for regional legal dialogue, capacity building, and scholarly exchange.

Key Features of the Conference

Theme: Exploring contemporary global legal challenges through an interdisciplinary lens, including environmental sustainability, digital disruption, human rights, governance, and economic law.

Participants: Jurists, academics, policy professionals, and students from across South Asia and beyond.

Call for Papers: Open until June 7, 2025, for abstracts; full paper submissions encouraged post-conference for publication opportunities in Scopus/ UGC-CARE listed journals, the Academy Law Review (India), and conference proceedings with ISBN/ISSN identifiers.

  • Review: Blind peer-reviewed for originality, clarity, relevance, and rigor.

Full Paper Submission

  • Word Limit: 4,000–6,000 words

  • Citation Style: Blue Book 21st Edition

  • Similarity Index: ≤10% (excluding references)

Submission and Registration Timeline

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: June 7; Submit Abstract only (250–300 words) via Google Form / Conference Portal

  • Notification of Abstract Acceptance: June 21; Acceptance email will be after blind peer-review.

Revised Abstract Submission Deadline (For Corrections, if any): June 28; Revised abstracts (if suggested by reviewers) must be resubmitted.

Early Registration Deadline: June 21- July 20; Avail discounted early bird registration rates.

Normal Registration Deadline: July 21 - August 31; Standard registration rates apply after early bird registration closes.

Conference Dates: September 13 and 14, 2025; There will be presentation of accepted abstracts during the conference (Hybrid Format).

Full Paper Submission for Publication (Optional): Within one month after the conference (latest by October 15, 2025). This is for authors opting for post-conference publication only.
