The graduating batch of 2025 of National Law University Odisha (NLUO) has secured a total of 50 placements for 80 students who participated in the recruitment process.
A total of 30 students have been placed in domestic law firms. 13 students were placed with advisory firms, banks and public sector undertakings (PSUs).
3 students were placed with policy think tanks, while 2 were awarded fellowships. 2 other students have received offers to join litigation chambers.
In addition to these, 2 students have been offered paralegal positions, and 5 students have secured admissions for higher education.
The highest package offered this year stands at ₹22.5 lakh per annum, with the average salary package reportedly at ₹14.33 lakh per annum.
Law firm placements
Among law firms, Saraf & Partners emerged as the top recruiter with 5 offers. Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Argus Partners followed with 3 offers each.
Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan and IndusLaw have extended 2 offers each.
Khaitan & Co, Trilegal, JSA, Luthra and Luthra Law Offices, Wadia Ghandy & Co, S&A Law Offices, Poovayya & Co, T&S Law, Bose & Mitra, Economic Law Practice, Tatva Legal, Sagus Legal and Casus Chambers have recruited 1 student each.
Corporate and in-house placements
Davies Wallis Foyster (DWF) has emerged as the leading recruiter, with 4 placement offers. Ujjivan Small Finance Bank has provided 2 placements. Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited and Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) extended 2 offers each.
ICICI Bank, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) and Welspun Group recruited 1 student each.
Fellowships
2 students were selected for the Graduate Impact Leadership Programme at Nation with Namo. 1 student was offered the PRS Legislative Assistant to a Member of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship.
Internet Freedom Foundation awarded the Freedom Innovation Fellowship to 1 student. Varahe Analytics hired 1 student.
Litigation chambers
Chamber of Saswat Kumar Acharya and Chamber of Rishabh Dheer have made 1 offer each.
Students were also hired as paralegals at AZB & Partners and Saakshya Law.
A few students of the Batch of 2025 have secured admission to King's College London, Queen Mary University of London, University of Dubai, Symbiosis Law School, National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) to pursue higher studies.
NLU Odisha also revealed that a few students are preparing for various competitive exams such as civil services, judiciary exams, SEBI Grade A (Legal), JAG, and CAT.
The student members of the Recruitment Coordination Committee (RCC) were Aditi Sinha, Ananya Gudihal, Anuj Kulhar, Chitrangda Saini, Kanishk Kaushik, Kritika Patnaik, Mohit Chand, Sachin Thakkar, Sansita Swain, Shubhangini Rathore, Soumya Sinha, Sourav Jena, Suryansh Sritej Mohanty and Suvanwesh Das.
The administrative members were Vice-Chancellor Prof Ved Kumari, Registrar Prof (Dr) Rangin Pallav Tripathy, Placement Coordinator Dr Arjyalopa Mishra and faculty advisors Dr Nikita Pattajoshi and Dr Mayank Mishra.
