NADA backs UNESCO-established NLU Delhi Chair for Legal Dimensions of Clean Sports

The UNESCO-NLU Delhi Chair has been set up to drive research, education, and policy development on the legal framework related to clean sports.

The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has announced its support for the recently established United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) Chair for Legal Dimensions of Clean Sports, which is dedicated to sports law and integrity.

Commenting on the establishment of the UNESCO Chair, Director General, NADA, Anant Kumar said,

"We believe this Chair will help provide recommendations on the legal framework and research needed to tackle complex anti-doping challenges. By supporting this initiative, we are investing in the development of comprehensive educational programs and evidence-based policies that will protect our athletes and strengthen the integrity of Indian sports."

The UNESCO-NLU Delhi Chair is led by Registrar, NLU Delhi, Prof (Dr) Ruhi Paul, and aims to drive research, education, and policy development on the legal framework related to clean sports.

With NADA's support, the initiative gains not only institutional legitimacy but also practical depth from the agency's on-ground expertise in anti-doping enforcement.

With NADA's support, the Chair will focus on developing comprehensive legal frameworks for anti-doping, specialized training programs for sports law professionals, and establishing best practices that align with international standards while addressing India's unique sporting landscape.

The establishment of the UNESCO Chair for Legal Dimensions of Clean Sports and its endorsement by NADA is a reflection of India's growing leadership in global sports governance.
