Christ University wins 22nd Surana & Surana National Corporate Law Moot

The competition was held from March 7-9, with 24 teams participating from across the country.

The team from Christ University, Bangalore won the 22nd Surana & Surana National Corporate Law Moot Competition, 2025 held at JSS Law College, Mysore.

The team from School of Law, Christ University comprised Samridh S and Niranjen Subbu, and won a cash prize of ₹30,000.

Shaurya Kapoor from West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata was awarded the Best Speaker prize. The Best Memorial was awarded to the team from SASTRA, Thanjavur.

The final round of the competition between Christ University and WBNUJS was presided over by Karnataka High Court judge Justice Krishna Dixit, Senior Advocate V Raghuraman, Standing Counsel to the Income Tax Department Karthik Ranganathan, Joint Commissioner (GST) Parameshwar Gowda P, and S Achuta.

The moot problem, drafted by Ranganathan, dealt with corporate legislation, including the Companies Act, domestic and international taxation, Foreign Exchange Management Act, securities regulations and corporate governance.
