HNLU hosts colloquium on WTO@30

The event focussed on the latest developments of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) with respect to India's experience with the trade regulator.

Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (HNLU) hosted the 'WTO@30 & India: Opportunities & Challenges for Trade Lawyers & Negotiators' Colloquium on November 10.

The event focussed on the latest developments of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) with respect to India's experience with the trade regulator.

The session was opened by Head of the Centre for WTO & WIPO Studies at HNLU, Dr. Ankit Awasthi, with an address that outlined future prospects for trade lawyers and negotiators.

WTO Chair in India, and Head of the Centre for Trade & Investment Law at IIFT, Prof James J Nedumpara delivered the keynote address and offered advice to students who aspire to take this as a career path.

The keynote address was followed by a question-and-answer round. The event also launched the TradeLab@HNLU, a collaboration between the Centre for WTO & WIPO Studies, HNLU and the Centre for Trade & Investment Law, IIFT, Delhi.

The colloquium featured trade law experts from Delhi and Mumbai who addressed and interacted with students at the campus.
