In an effort to expand diversity, equity and inclusion, international law firm Allen & Overy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore to support four deserving scholars from lesser privileged backgrounds.

The Allen & Overy Scholarships will support the education of two students each of the five-year and three-year law programmes at the University. This is the first scholarship announced for the new LLB (Hons) programme launched in July this year. The Scholarship will maintain at least a 50:50 gender diversity ratio among the recipients.

In a statement announcing the Scholarship, Vice-Chancellor Prof Sudhir Krishnaswamy said,

“NLSIU is very excited to renew its engagement with Allen & Overy, which first began in 2007. Our shared commitment towards diversity in student enrolment, supported through the A&O Scholarships, will ensure a vibrant and aspirational future generation of legal professionals. We are particularly excited to extend the Scholarships to students in our new 3-year LLB (Hons) programme, which aims to reshape and reimagine graduate legal education in India in the years ahead. We thank Allen & Overy for their continued support over the years.”
