The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), in collaboration with King's College London (KCL), is inviting registrations for the Summer School 2025 on 'Financial Regulations and Corporate Law', which will be held from June 17 -27 at the WBNUJS campus in Kolkata.

This program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between financial regulations and corporate law. It emphasizes the importance of this knowledge for both academic research and the practical development of legal professionals.

The Summer School offers a platform for participants to engage in academic inquiry, hands-on learning, and interdisciplinary dialogue on key issues related to corporate law and financial regulations.

By bringing together scholars, practitioners, and thought leaders from around the world, the program provides opportunities for intellectual exchange, professional networking, and skill-building.

The successful completion of the inaugural Summer School prompted the International Office, WBNUJS and KCL to organize a second edition on 'Financial Regulations and Corporate Law.'

Eligibility

Who may apply?

- Students (pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in law, commerce, management, financial regulations and other allied areas from a recognized university),

- Researchers,

- Faculty, and

- Working Professionals.

Applications from diverse nationalities, educational, cultural, age, gender, and professional backgrounds are encouraged.

Fees

Registration Fees include study material, summer school merchandise and kit, lunch, refreshments, and welcome dinner.

- For Indian participants: INR 30,000 + 18% GST

- For SAARC Country participants: INR 35,000

- For Non-SAARC Country participants: USD 600

Accommodation Fees - INR 20,000 + 18% GST

Accommodation Details: The university currently does not provide accommodation in its own hostel premises. Accommodation has been arranged in other institutional hostel/ guest houses, which are near the WBNUJS campus on sharing basis.

The accommodation charge shall also include breakfast, lunch, high tea, dinner during the days of the summer school and transportation from the accommodation to the WBNUJS campus.

Since there are limited number of accommodations available, they shall be provided on first-come-first serve basis. The candidates may call or email to seek more information on the accommodation status before making additional payments for accommodation.

However, in some cases, if requested, the university shall provide names and addresses of nearby Guest Houses/ Hotels, which the candidates must contact on their own.

All participants will be expected to bear their transport costs.

Reading material like scholarly articles, judgements, other necessary documents related to the course shall be distributed or emailed, as directed by the session lecturer.

Registration Process

Interested applicants are required to complete the Google Form with the necessary details and complete the payment process by May 30, 2025.

- Screenshot of the payment made for the Summer School

Note: The documents mentioned above must be in PDF Format and below 10 MB in size. Only completed applications will be accepted via the aforementioned Google form.

No applications via post/ email or any other method will be accepted. The registration process cannot be completed by making payment alone. The Google Form must also be completed.

Non-Indian applicants are advised to complete the prerequisite registration by April 30, 2025 to ensure sufficient time for visa processing.
