
The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released a notification with instructions to be followed for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) scheduled on December 1, 2024.
The notification carries a strong warning against the use of unfair means.
"The use of any unfair means during the test shall result in your disqualification. Possession of Electronic Devices including mobile phones, headphones and digital watches is strictly prohibited in the Test Centre premises. Impersonation or any other fraudulent practice during the test may amount to criminal offence, and will lead to your disqualification and also penal action shall be initiated against the candidate as per the law."
The reporting time to the test centre will be 1 PM and no candidate will be allowed post 2:15 PM. The test duration will be 2 hours commencing at 2 PM and 2 hours 40 minutes for PwD/ SAP candidates. Washroom facilities cannot be used by the candidates for the duration of the test.
Permitted items in test centres:
Black/blue ball point pens
Transparent water bottle
Analogue watch
Government ID proof
Acceptable documents that can be furnished as ID proof has been provided in the Annexure.
Candidates are not allowed to bring bags or any other items like electronic devices including mobile phones, headphones, and digital watches.
Those candidates suffering from illness are allowed to carry medication.
Candidates will have to mark their answers on an Optical Mark Reader Response Sheet using only a black/blue ball point pen.
"By the end of the test, candidates must ensure that the Invigilator signs in the space provided on the OMR Response Sheet. Candidates should also sign in the space provided on the OMR Response Sheet. This should be done before detaching the Candidate's Copy. Utmost care must be taken while tearing the sheet to ensure that the timing marks and barcode are not damaged."
The Question Booklet will contain 120 marks for both the undergraduate paper and the postgraduate papers. Each correct response will carry 1 mark and a wrong will deduct 0.25 marks. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.
